Did you know that link building makes up for more than 90% of your ranking success?
One of your main considerations is by knowing Google’s terms so you can produce results that are sustained long term.
Here is my list of why link building is the most important part of SEO ranking:
1. Create a Blog
Use a blog to write quality articles for natural incoming links into your site. Commit to regularly add new content to your blog whether it’s everyday or a number of posts weekly. The main thing here is your commitment. The biggest mistake I see all the time is that everyone is so eager to have a blog and soon enough it gets completely ignored. Aside from the internal links which your blog provides, it also helps your website with fresh new content which increases the size of your site. I would recommend using WordPress because of the many plugins, widgets and SEO capabilities.
Write quality articles that educate your audience and you will also increase your chances of getting additional links with mentions from those that read your article.
2. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn
Start your article promotion using your Social Media pages to share, and do this across the board. Also it’s good practice to share others article who you are following, helps others and in return they will help you through sharing. Enable social media sharing on your articles to make it easy for your audience to share your content. Remember the quality of the article will determine the number of sharing you will get which means more links.
3. Article Submission
Submit your article to directories that are relevant to your content. Allow other website owners who want to republish your article on their blog in exchange for a link back to your site. Note that article is indexed on your blog first so you have ownership avoiding any duplicate content issues.
4. Link Building into Your Service Offering
While it isn’t an easy thing to do, if you can find a way to integrate link building into your service offering. For example, Web designers include a link back to their site in the footer area of every site they design. Hosting companies give away free website templates to their customers in exchange for a link in the footer area of the sites they are giving away. I think you get the idea. The main idea here is whether you are guest blogging or leaving comments in forums, always leave a link back to your website.
Submit your website, Blog to directories. While this is a laborious process and not the most effective, this will help your SEO rankings. Start by searching for directories locally, and expand out. You may also consider paid directory listings, that’s if you have the budget for this.
6. Memberships and Associations
This may be worth the consideration as this usually requires a cost to join. However, if you do then this is another area where members will usually get a members page and a link back to your website.
7. Fresh Content
Keep your content fresh and updated. The more pages you have the better your ranking will be and more internal links. New services, news related items, products are some of the new and fresh content to can add to your website.
8. Press Release
If you have a product launch, a new service or something newsworthy, you can submit a press release online. To get the most out of press releases, consider having someone who has experience writing press releases and paid syndication services. If you get your press release published, then you will get plenty of exposure and of course a link back to your website.
